How to Choose a Yamaha Outboard
Horsepower: check your boat’s capacity plate for the maximum rating and don’t exceed it.
Shaft length: measure your transom height. Common shaft lengths are 15, 20 and 25 inches.
2-stroke or 4-stroke: 4-strokes are generally quieter and more fuel-efficient, and many older 2-strokes are lighter and simpler.
