How we ship
Every outboard motor is crated on a pallet and moved by freight carrier. Smaller items — lower units, rigging kits, gear lube and parts — ship by standard ground courier.
Processing time
Orders are picked and prepared within 1–3 business days. Motors held in stock ship first; anything ordered in from a distributor is confirmed by email with a firm date before it leaves us.
Delivery times and cost
| Service | Typical transit | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Ground — parts and accessories | 3–6 business days | Calculated at checkout |
| Freight — outboard motors | 5–10 business days | Free on qualifying motors, otherwise quoted at checkout |
| Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico | 10–15 business days | Quoted before we charge you |
Transit time starts when the carrier collects, not when you place the order.
Freight deliveries — what to expect
The carrier calls to arrange a delivery window. Someone over 18 has to be there to sign. Kerbside delivery is standard: the driver brings the crate to the end of your driveway, not into a garage or onto a boat.
If you need a lift gate, an appointment window or inside delivery, tell us before the motor ships and we will quote it.
Check the crate before you sign
This matters. Inspect the crate in front of the driver.
- Photograph the crate before it is unloaded.
- If anything is damaged, note it on the delivery receipt before signing.
- Tell us within 48 hours at support@jacobengines.com.
A signed clean receipt tells the carrier the motor arrived undamaged, and it becomes very hard to claim afterwards. Thirty seconds with a phone camera protects you.
Tracking
You get a tracking number by email as soon as the order leaves. Freight shipments also have a carrier reference for arranging delivery.
Where we ship
Across the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. For deliveries outside the US, contact us first — we will confirm whether we can ship to you and what it costs.
